FAQ
Cost & pricing
What bookkeeping actually costs in British Columbia, and how our flat monthly fees work.
Most BC bookkeepers charge $45–$85 per hour, or $175–$1,300 per month on a flat-rate package. Averon Accounting's monthly plans start at $175/month for a sole proprietor with one bank account and quarterly GST, and scale with transaction volume, payroll and filing frequency. You pay the same amount every month with no hourly surprises.
If you have fewer than 75 transactions a month and only quarterly GST filing, we can usually tailor a lighter package below our listed $175/month Starter rate. Tell us your setup on a free consultation and we'll quote a fixed monthly fee that matches the real workload.
No. The monthly plan price covers everything listed in the plan. Extra work such as catch-up bookkeeping or software setup is quoted upfront as a fixed amount before anything begins.
Yes. Bookkeeping and accounting fees are a deductible business expense on your T2125 or corporate return, and the GST paid on those fees is generally recoverable as an input tax credit if you are GST registered.
FAQ
Services & scope
What is included each month, and where bookkeeping stops and accounting begins.
A bookkeeper records and categorizes every transaction, reconciles bank and credit card accounts, tracks GST/PST, runs payroll and remittances, and delivers monthly financial statements. The outcome is clean, current books and a year-end file your accountant can use without rework.
A bookkeeper maintains your records throughout the year. An accountant uses those records at year-end for tax filing and planning. Averon Accounting provides bookkeeping only — we do not offer audit or assurance services — and we keep your books accountant-ready so professional fees stay lower.
Yes. We reconcile your books, calculate what is owed, and file with CRA and BC eTax on your schedule — monthly, quarterly or annually. You receive confirmation and a full audit trail each filing, plus reminders ahead of every deadline.
Yes. We process payroll runs, calculate and remit source deductions, and prepare T4s and ROEs. Payroll is included in our mid-tier and higher monthly plans and can be added to a Starter plan.
Yes, catch-up and cleanup is one of our most requested services. We rebuild the records, reconcile every account, correct GST filings where needed, and bring the file current. Cleanup is quoted separately as a fixed fee after we review the file; a rough guide is one to two months of your regular fee per year of backlog.
