Both platforms will do the job. The right choice depends on how your business actually runs day-to-day.

Pick QuickBooks Online if…

You want the biggest ecosystem of Canadian integrations, you already use QuickBooks Time for crew tracking, and your accountant is a ProAdvisor (most are). Job costing is solid out of the box.

Pick Xero if…

You have a lot of recurring invoices, you want a cleaner interface for non-accountants, and you use add-ons like ServiceM8 or Tradify. Bank reconciliation is genuinely faster.

What both get wrong

Neither handles holdbacks elegantly for construction. Both need a workaround. We'll set it up for you so it just works.

We live, work, and serve clients on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Stó:lō Nation — including the Semá:th, Matheqwí, Kwantlen, Katzie, Sumas, and Leq'á:mel Peoples — across what is now known as the Fraser Valley. We're grateful to do business on this land and committed to respectful, reciprocal relationships with the First Nations communities who have stewarded it since time immemorial.
